Biomimetic Bio-Nano Engineering Laboratory

Research

Biomimetic

Research topic

Biomimetics is a technology that is used as a break though in engineering challenges by imitating the organism itself, structure, principle and mechanism on the nature.

Project

장 유도 단방향 정렬 나노바이오 물질 3차원 구조 및 그의 바이오 압전 시스템

Research Objectives

  • Development of magnetic field and electric field maximum response phage through polar maximum phage programming based on genetic engineering.
  • Synthesis of one-way aligned phage three-dimensional structures with maximized piezoelectric properties.
  • Evaluation of bone regeneration acceleration effect based on biocompatible piezoelectric scaffolds (three-dimensional structure)

Project

공항 탐지초파리 개발을 위한 바이오센서 기초연구실

Research Objectives

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a detection fly and detection room that can detect illegal chemicals such as drugs and explosives at airports by applying fruit fly olfactory receptors in-vivo and in-vitro methods, and to develop a new concept portable odor detection system.
  • The final detector prototype aims to have part-per-billion sensitivity for three types of drugs and two types of explosives.

Project

Mass production using culture temperature

Research Objectives

  • high-concentration phage production by temperature control.
  • High concentration, high purity.
  • change the ribosomal efficiency through changes in culture temperature.

Project

Biomimetic anti-Biofouling

Research Objectives

  • Replicating the unique microstructures on the shark skin with PDMS to take on the anti-biofouling.
  • Self-cleaning, anti-biofouling.
  • Applying to various electrical device where biofouling is anticipated (e.g., water environment).
